Virginia Tech-Pittsburgh Betting Odds

Why are the Virginia Tech-Pittsburgh betting odds relevant these days?

Because we are sitting pretty in the second week of October and the Panthers and Hokies are the only two teams in the ACC Coastal division that remain unbeaten in conference play. That, of course, is going to change this weekend, as Pitt makes the trek down to Blacksburg to face off with Virginia Tech.

Pitt enters the game as (-5) point favorites as they are coming off of back-to-back wins and currently own a victory over one of the hottest teams in the SEC in Tennessee. The Hokies, frankly, are a bit of a mess. They blew an eight-point lead in the final minutes to Notre Dame. They blew a lead at West Virginia. So much of what we thought was a promising start with the win over North Carolina has been wasted.

Longtime college sports writer Rob Dauster, the co-founder of The Field of 68 and The Field of 12 Network is here to break down the tantalizing matchup and provide the Virginia Tech-Pittsburgh betting odds for Week 7 of the college football season.

Until then, as a NCAA fan, you can check NFL betting odds and get ready to place a bet at BetRivers.

VIRGINIA TECH-PITTSBURGH PREDICTION:

To me, the analysis here is pretty simple: I want no part of the sides. If anything, I’ll take the home dog that has played a couple of better opponents — West Virginia and Notre Dame — tough at home. I do think the Hokies will be able to move the ball against Pitt.

That said, the Panthers have one of the most explosive offensive attacks in college football. They can put up points with anyone, and my expectation is that they will be able to do the same against VT. Pitt has played five games this season. The over has hit in all five of those games. Life’s too short to bet the under.
