NFL WEEK 17 ODDS: Late Games

TITANS (10-5) at TEXANS (4-11), 4:25 p.m.
MONEYLINE: Titans -345, Texans +290
SPREAD: Titans -7.5
OVER/UNDER: 56 points

Tennessee has a lot to play for in this one. No doubt they want to play better after being outclassed by Green Bay last week, but the real carrot is the AFC south. They hold the tie-breaker vs Indianapolis so if they win, they win the division. 

With that, you’d think I’m on Tennessee, right? Remember a few weeks ago, when I mentioned that Deshaun Watson was an elite talent at QB? That hasn’t changed, has it? 

And, my rule hasn’t changed. I don’t bet against great QBs when they are getting more than a touchdown. 

I don’t always bet on them either, but in this case, we will. I really like this Tennessee team, but they are flawed, especially defensively. Watson should have enough success to keep this game. 

Houston +7.5 is the play.

Seattle already has the NFC west locked up and doesn’t appear to be playing for much. The 49ers season has been over for weeks, but as evidenced by last week’s performance vs Arizona, they are a prideful group.

This game is a rare mis-price in my opinion. This line should be around Seattle -3, yet we can get San Francisco +6.5. It’s a post-Christmas present. Don’t overthink it. 

The pick is 49ers +6.5.

MONEYLINE: Washington -200, Eagles +175
SPREAD: Washington -4

Huge game with huge playoff implications. 

I spoke about Jalen Hurts and how we needed to hold off on the invites to Canton. I like what he brings to the Eagles offense, but at the same time, he’s not without flaws as we saw last week. 

This is a tough matchup for him. With a few weeks of game film on Hurts, I expect Washington to be ready for Jalen and company. 

The real question to me is Alex Smith. Does the fairytale comeback story have a happy ending? I think Washington wins this one and I’ll be betting on them to win if and only if Alex Smith plays. And as it turns out, Smith is expected to start, as of Saturday morning, which means Washington is the play. Upon the news of Smith getting the nod, the line moved from WFT -2.5 to WFT -4.
