Tuesday night football features one team, the Baltimore Ravens, playing on a short week while fighting Covid and the Dallas Cowboys who last played on Thanksgiving. This alone is disconcerting if you’re a Ravens fan.

On a neutral field, the Ravens should be about 10 point favorites here. Nothing neutral about playing at M&T Bank Stadium and yet the Ravens are only favored by 8 points.

So what gives?

The Ravens have not looked great as of late and the wide disparity of rest time for each team is part of it.  After watching Jacksonville, the Giants and now Washington all cover big spreads, the betters are loathe to lay a big number. The fact of the matter is that Lamar Jackson hasn’t played well enough to deserve that big a number.  Hence, the line is -8 when it should probably be closer 10.5

I imagine this will be a war, and while I’m not comfortable taking or giving the points in this spot, I have found a play that I think should yield a nice return.

Baltimore needs this win if they want to make the playoffs. While I think Dallas could keep it close, I’d be really surprised if Baltimore didn’t ultimately find a way to win.

There’s value in Baltimore and on the OVER 45. What I’ll do here is tease them. So our bet is now Baltimore -2 and OVER 39 yards.

In addition, we’re finding value in  Dez Bryant. In case, you missed the news, Dez Bryant is back. No, he’s not hosting some reality show (that’s what I thought when I heard the news) He’s actually back in the NFL.

Interestingly enough he faces off against his old team, the Cowboys. Many people I speak to you think he’s going to go off for that exact reason. As a result, I think the total is a bit inflated.

All-Pro guard Zack Martin has been placed on injured reserve because of a calf injury. With Andy Dalton under center and Baltimore’s blitzing tendencies on the schedule, this is less than ideal if you’re a Cowboys fan. I don’t think Dalton has a lot of success today which would suggest Dez isn’t going to go  “off” despite this being a “revenge” game of sorts.

UNDER 31.5 receiving yards for Dez Bryant is the play.
