Just three weeks remain in the regular season and for the Raiders, a spot in the 2020 NFL playoffs is still within reach. Las Vegas has lost three of its last four and is allowing more points than any other team in the NFL over the past five games. But the Raiders’ Thursday Night Football opponents — the Los Angeles Chargers — are not far behind, allowing the fourth-most points over the past five games. The Chargers are 1-5 on the road this season. The Raiders are just 2-4 at home, but all four losses came at the hands of playoff-bound teams. The Raiders defeated the Chargers 31-26 in Week 9.

The Raiders enter Thursday night 2-3 ATS in their last five games and are 3-2 O/U. The Chargers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games and are 2-3 O/U.

Longtime broadcaster and gambling expert David Tuchman is here to preview the Raiders-Chargers Week 15 odds and highlight the props and plays worth a wager.

At times, there are games that are perfectly priced meaning I don’t see value on either side. It doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion and if I were in a pool where I had to pick a team, I’d say, I’m “leaning” in one way or another. The beauty in sports betting is that you can wait, be patient.

I will make you a promise. I will never promote a bet I don’t believe in. As for tonight, I was leaning Las Vegas when the line was -3, but at 3.5, I really don’t love either side. The Raiders are the better team, but this is a rivalry game where I wouldn’t be at all shocked if this was a one or two-point game when it was all said and done.

I’m definitely leaning Las Vegas on the moneyline, but at -190, it’s a bit steep.

So, you’re probably thinking, Tuck, What are you betting on?

I’ve been watching the total all week. It opened at 55. Woah! But it’s moved down steadily and as of 1 pm ET, it was a paltry 51.5. This is the opportunity we’ve been waiting for. My charts have the total at 53.5 so while this isn’t a slam dunk, there’s still enough value to bet on.

OVER 51.5 points is the play.

Josh Jacobs receptions total is 2.5 –  Let’s look under the hood at this one.

The Chargers’ defensive backs have plus matchups against the Raiders’ wide receivers.  As a result, I believe Derek Carr will be looking to exploit the Chargers Linebackers in coverage meaning a heavy dose of Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs.

While I expect Waller to have a good game, his reception total is 6.5, which seems about right. But at 2.5, Jacobs total feels a bit low. He’s not a reception monster by any stretch, but he’s surpassed that total three of the past four weeks including last week when he didn’t play all that much since he just returned from injury.

Bet on OVER 2.5 receptions for Josh Jacobs.

TUCK’S TAKE: RAIDERS-CHARGERS WEEK 15 ODDS

  • OVER 51.5 points
  • OVER 2.5 receptions Josh Jacobs
  • 52-29-4 on the season
