The last time we saw these two teams square off, it was an instant classic.

Portland came from 21 points down to force not one but two overtimes as Damian Lillard went for 55 points, hit an NBA playoff record 12 threes and tied the game at the end of regulation and overtime with ridiculous shots.

But it wasn’t enough to get the win. It wasn’t even enough to cover.

The question now will become just how much legs do these teams have at this point. Denver is extremely limited. Their backcourt is essentially made up of Austin Rivers, Monte’ Morris, Facundo Campazzo and Markus Howard. Rivers was unemployed a couple months ago. Campazzo is a 30-year old, 5-foot-9 rookie. Howard is an undrafted rookie. Morris is the best of the bunch, and he’s a late second round pick who’s career average is 9.8 points. Combined, those four are averaging more than 40 points in this series. That’s been enormous.

The way Portland is playing Denver is to force Jokic to be a scorer. They’re basically saying they will let the Joker try and beat them and shut down everyone else on the roster. Getting those performances out of their rag-tag group of guards is a game-changer.

That said, at some point, you figure that a supporting cast of CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony and Norman Powell will find a way to outplay a group that is headlined by Michael Porter Jr., and while it is tempting to bury a team that lost a heartbreaking Game 5 in double OT, I’m not going to do that.

I think Portland wins, and it is worth noting that, in this series, the winning team has covered five points in every game.

But my favorite bet is the over. Four of the five games in this series have gone over, and as we’ve discussed at length, both of these teams are completely ill-equipped to be able to guard each other.

Life’s too short to bet the under.
