Sunday night provided us with one of the best endings of an NBA Playoff game that I can remember seeing in recent seasons, as Nikola Jokic went full Super Saiyan before Anthony Davis took advantage of Mason Plumlee falling asleep to bury a game-winner. 

The Nuggets were so close to getting this series to 1-1, and now … they have the Lakers right where they want them down 0-2? That’s what Denver has done through the first two series of the playoffs, so maybe it’s a strategy? I don’t know. 

Either way, the answer for the Nuggets is clear: They are going to need more from their supporting cast. Want to hear one of the most unbelievable stats that I’ve heard in my life? In Game 2, Jamal Murray was +16 while playing more than 44 minutes. That means that in the less-than-four minutes that he was on the bench, Denver was somehow outscored by 18 points. 

Is that actually possible?

On to this game. 

I think that it is worth noting here that the only game that the Lakers have won in this playoffs without covering was Sunday night’s win. That’s it. They’ve covered in their other nine wins, so if you believe that the Lakers will win, picking them to cover the 6.5 seems like a solid play considering that Bet Rivers if giving you that number at (-110).

That said, the value on the Nuggets moneyline — (+215) — doesn’t have all that much value pregame, and their M.O. this postseason has been digging out of massive early holes. If you want to bet the Nuggets to win, what I would do is wait and see if the Lakers jump out to a lead and then fire at the Nuggets moneyline live.

But if you do think that the Nuggets are going to win, you know it’s going to be because one of their two stars goes nuts.
