It’s one of the most exciting times of the year in college football when teams are vying for conference championship games and trying to work their way into the national championship picture. We’ve essentially separated the haves from the have nots at this point, so let’s see if that knowledge can make us some money. Iowa State looks to secure a spot in the Big 12 title game, Clemson is playing at full-throttle again with Trevor Lawrence at quarterback, and the Pac-12 remains as unpredictable as ever.

Longtime sports broadcaster and gambling expert Michael Jenkins is here to give you his favorite picks, including Saturday’s Big Ten showdown in Columbus between the Hoosiers and Buckeyes.

But first, a very special, and very important edition of Weekend Jenks. The McRib is back.

College Football Week 14 Picks:

Texas (5-3) at Kansas State (4-5). 12:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Texas -265, Kansas State +210
Spread: Texas -7
Over/Under: 51.5 points

I’ve been fading Texas in the past few weeks and making money because of it. Yes, I know Kansas State is terrible, but the Longhorns play terribly in Manhattan—they’re 0-6 ATS in their last six games there. Texas is also out of Big 12 title contention after losing to Iowa State, Tom Herman is a lame duck, and offensive line captain Samuel Cosmi opted out this week to focus on getting ready for the NFL draft. The Horns are a mess, so I’ll grab the home dog. The pick: Kansas State +7.0.

Nebraska (1-4) at Purdue (2-3). 12:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Purdue -115, Nebraska -106
Spread: Purdue -1
Over/Under: 62.5 points

Dear God, why am I betting this putrid game? Nebraska has been a disaster under Scott Frost despite covering last week against Iowa, and Purdue has lost three straight games. And yes, the Boilers dropped their most recent decision to… Rutgers.

However, all three of those losses have been by one score, and the Huskers give up more than 32 points per contest. I simply believe that Purdue is the more talented team, and all the Boilers need to do is win by a field goal at home. The pick: Purdue -2.5.

West Virginia (5-3) at #9 Iowa State (7-2). 3:30 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Iowa State -230, West Virginia +185
Spread: Iowa State -6
Over/Under: 49 points

The craziest thing I read this week is that Iowa State hasn’t won a conference title since 1912. More than a century ago! However, a win against West Virginia on Saturday will send the Cyclones to Arlington for a chance to end that streak of ineptitude.

The Mountaineers have the best pass defense in the conference, so I expect Iowa State to feed running back Breece Hall and slow the tempo of this game, and the Under is 8-0 in West Virginia’s last eight games as an underdog. The pick: Under 49.

#10 Indiana (5-1) at #18 Wisconsin (2-1). 3:30 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Wisconsin -625, Indiana +450
Spread: Wisconsin -14
Over/Under: 45 points

I’m not sure what in the world I’m missing here, but Wisconsin has no business being favored by more than two touchdowns over the Hoosiers. Perhaps it’s still hard for bettors to respect Indiana, or perhaps it’s because Hoosiers standout QB Michael Penix Jr. is sidelined with a knee injury, but those questions should have gone away after the Hoosiers pushed Ohio State to the brink.

While Wisconsin will want to run the football, the Badgers will be taking a risk every time they go to the air, as the Hoosiers have 16 interceptions this season. The pick: Indiana +14.

Colorado (3-0) at Arizona (0-3). 7:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Colorado -275, Arizona +210
Spread: Colorado -7.5
Over/Under: 58 points

I’m not sure how Kevin Sumlin is still the head coach at Arizona. The Wildcats have lost ten consecutive games going back to last season. After showing some promise in a last-second loss to USC, Arizona has reverted back to playing bad football, losing 27-10 UCLA last time out.

The Buffaloes may not be as good as their record indicates—and we would know more if their game against the Trojans hadn’t been canceled—but Colorado Sam Noyer is talented. He should be the difference against an Arizona defense ranked 102nd in the country. The pick: Colorado -7.5.

#21 Oregon (3-1) at California (0-3). 7:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Oregon -315, Cal +240
Spread: Oregon -8
Over/Under: 58 points

Oregon is coming off a heartbreaking 41-38 loss to rival Oregon State last Saturday, and nothing can soothe the soul like a trip to Cal. The Golden Bears suffered an even more disappointing loss when kicker Dario Longhetti missed an extra point to give Stanford a 24-23 victory over Cal and send the Bears to 0-3.

The Ducks have a massive talent advantage here, and Cal is 1-6-1 against the number in its last eight home games. I’m laying it with Mario Cristobal’s bunch. The pick: Oregon -10.5.

#4 Clemson (8-1) at Virginia Tech (4-5). 7:30 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Clemson -1430, Virginia Tech +800
Spread: Clemson -22.5
Over/Under: 67 points

Clemson is on a mission after falling to Notre Dame, and it clearly helps when you have arguably the best player in the country as your quarterback. Trevor Lawrence has tossed 19 touchdowns and only two interceptions on the season, and the Tigers destroyed Pitt 52-17 last Saturday.

The Hokies are mired in a three-game losing skid, and two weeks ago, they were whipped 47-14 by those very same Pitt Panthers. I’m not one to compare common opponents, but the Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five against the Hokies, and Clemson should cruise. The pick: Clemson -22.5.
