After an absolutely putridWeek 3, we head into Week 4 at 17-17 …. I’m not a happy camper, but this is the plight of a gambler. You’re going to have weeks like this. Good news! The sun will come up tomorrow and more importantly, tomorrow is Thursday which means there’s a football game for us to bet on.

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: BENGALS-JAGUARS WEEK 4 ODDS

CINCINNATI BENGALS (2-1) vs. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-3)
DATE/TIME: Thursday, Sept. 30 8:20 p.m.
CHANNEL: NFL Network
MONEYLINE: Bengals -335 ML Jaguars +275 ML
SPREAD: Bengals -7.5
OVER/UNDER: 46.5 points

BENGALS-JAGUARS WEEK 4 PUBLIC TRENDS:
Bengals Moneyline: 90% money, 85% bets
Bengals Spread: 66% money, 67% bets
Over:
71% money, 71% bets

There are four teams this season that haven’t covered the spread yet. The Jets, The Kansas City, Washington and yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars. These four have combined to go 0-12 ATS.

The Cincinnati Bengals are 2-1 ATS – covering in weeks one and three.

My model has Cincinnati winning this game by more than 7.5 points around 50.5% of the time. Not enough of an edge to bet on it.

The money line has Cincinnati at -335 and there is a tiny bit of value on the Bengals here, but my favorite bet in this game is the total.

When I wrote this (Thursday early morning) 57% of the tickets were going on the OVER while 68% of the cash went on the UNDER. What this tells us is that the public money, or the square money is on the OVER as it usually is. The sharp money is going on the UNDER. Fade the public – it’s a mantra that will make you money over the long haul.

The Pick: UNDER 46

Only one prop we like this Thursday and we’ll focus on the Cincinnati passing game. Surprisingly, Bengals offensive coordinator, Brian Callahan has dialed up running plays more often than he previously has. This was expected to be a pass-heavy offense, but that hasn’t been the case. In addition Thursday’s game script should favor more runs and less passes as Cincinnati should be leading in this one.

All that said, you’re probably expecting me to bet on an under, right?

Surprise! I’ve got first-round pick, Ja’Marr Chase catching five balls for 76 yards. The line is at 66.5 which represents enough value to fire away.

The Pick: Ja’Marr Chase OVER 66.5 receiving yards
