The Hawks have played two good halves of basketball in this series, but those two halves have been enough to earn them a pair of wins, including Monday’s come-from-behind victory that tied the series up at 2-2.

There are two ways to look at what happened here. On the one hand, Joel Embiid’s knee injury flared up, he wasn’t himself and, as a result, his 0-for-12 second-half performance was the product of a hobbled MVP candidate. The other way to look at it is that Embiid was worn down. Atlanta’s game plan in Game 4 was to push tempo and wear out the older 76ers, and it may have worked. Atlanta was down by as many as 18 points and still won.

I still like Philly tonight.

I don’t think banking on Embiid to miss 12 straight shots in one half of basketball is a reliable way to win. Atlanta is still struggling with Philly’s defense, and getting back to the City of Brotherly Love will be the difference-maker.
