2020 PGA Championship Odds: Betting trends, analysis at BetRivers.com
The PGA Tour is in San Francisco this weekend for its first major tournament of the year, the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park. BetRivers.com is proud to provide 2020 PGA Championship odds, prop bets, futures, and a wide variety of realtime live betting.
Typically the final major event of the season, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the PGA Tour to alter its schedule, making the annual August event the first big one on the adjusted 2020 calendar.
The PGA Championship begins on Thursday, Aug. 6 and concludes with the final round on Sunday, Aug. 9. The entire event can be watched and streamed on ESPN and CBS.

2020 PGA Championship Odds: Betting Preview
A winner last week at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, Justin Thomas (+800) is in a prime position to capture his second PGA Championship. Thomas enters the event having won three times this season, as well as nine top 10 finishes. Thomas is also the popular pick to win the event, with over 11 percent of outright winning bets. But the gap between him and the second most popular golfer is not very wide.
That’s because Brooks Koepka (+1000), has won the last two PGA Championships, and finished in second behind Thomas last week. Only five times in the history of professional golf has a golfer won the same major tournament three consecutive years in a row and has not happened since 1956, and Koepka has been all over the map since returning from the COVID-19 quarantine. Koepka has missed two of six cuts and has just two top 10 finishes since the beginning of June. Nonetheless, Koepka is still responsible for 9 percent of all outright winning bets.
TPC Harding Park has not hosted an event since the 2015 WGC Cadillac Match Play. The winner of that event was Rory McIlroy, and while it was five years ago, McIlroy (+1400) has the third-best odds to win his fifth major. But McIlroy has yet to crack a top 10 since returning to play in June, and his opening-round average — one a PGA-best 67.5 — is now 70.5 through five events.
A name to watch just outside the top 5 is Xander Schauffele (+1600), a California native who has a lot of success on coastal tracks. Since the RBC Heritage in mid-June, Schauffele has improved on his finishing position in each of the subsequent four events. He finished T6 last week at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
What about Collin Morikawa (+3300)? The Los Angeles native has been on fire this season, with one victory, a second-place finish and three other top 10 results. He finished the St. Jude Invitational strong with a 67 and 66 on the final two days of the event. Morikawa is solid off the tee and ranks second on the PGA Tour in approach to the green.
Then there is Tiger Woods (+2800), who makes his fifth PGA Tour appearance of the season. Last competing at The Memorial in mid-July, Woods is a popular pick to win the tournament, but not a likely one. He finished T40, and hasn’t recorded a sub-70 round on the PGA Tour since February.
